by | Jul 19, 2020

The Trump administration has announced that it’s set to add 25% duty on French goods, including cosmetics, valued at $1.3 billion.

This additional duty charge is in response to France’s digital services tariff which impacts major US technology companies such as Google, Apple Inc, Facebook.

The new import tax is set to take effect on January 6th, 2021, allowing both parties to come to a resolution on the matter.
BeautyMatter, announced that America’s Global purchases on imported beauty, cosmetics and skincare products totaled $5.1 billion in 2019, with French beauty ranking number one representing $807.6 million, up 4.6% from 2015.
